Bonfiglioli Transmissions
To Introduce Industrial Power Transmission Products
THE Bonfiglioli Group, the
market leader in power transmission field in Europe, has chosen India
as a stragetic base to open its own manufacturing plant. The group plans
to introduce a wide range of industrial power transmission products including
wormgear boxes, both hollow and solid shaft versions, inline helical geared
motors, heli-worm geared motors, shaft-mounted gear boxes, mechanical
variators and electric motors. The Indian venture, Bonfiglioli Transmissions
Pvt. Ltd. is a 100% owned companay of the Bonfiglioli group of Italy.
Although the Bonfiglidi group has nine assembly centres across the world
in UK, Germany, France, Sweden, Spain, Greece, North America, Australia,
South Africa. The Indian plant will be the first manufacturing unit outside
Italy. The plant is coming up near Chennai, is expected to go into full
stream by the end of the current year. The Bonfiglioli

the parent company started with coaxial gear boxes, right angle gear boxes,
parallel shaft gear boxes, epicyclic gear boxes and worm gear boxes and
the business has grown steadily over the last 40 years. Today, it manufactures
almost any type of gear unit needed for attached electric motors. In addition
drives are made for earth moving machinery, marine vessels, cement mixers.
The parent company also manufactures several components such as torque
limiters, electromagnetic brakes, clutches and permanent magnetic electric
motors. The Bonfiglioli gear operation is certified under ISO 9001 by
Det Norske Veritas through Sincert.
