The Delhi-based hydrofluid Engineers is the leading manufacturer of hydraulic based presses, machines and equipment. The company is having its plants located at Peera Garhi and Dashrathpuri, Delhi. All major research and development is conducted in-house and is supported by a computer-aided design (CAD) for both mechanical and electrical design. Mr. U.K. Sangal, director, Santec, Hydrofluid Engineers spoke at length to Hydraulics and Pneumatics Annual about his company, products and future prospects of the industry. The excerpts follows: |
Q. Please brief about your company. What prompted you to start and manufacture Hydraulics and Pneumatics products?
A.
Santec Hydrofluid Engineers is a leading manufacturer of all kind of machinery
used in almost any industrial activities involving compression moulding,
sheet metal operations, coir mattresses plants, scrap baling machines,
material handling equipment. Founded in 1995 by Mr. U.K. Sangal, though
the initial stage of its existence and growth, the company remained primarily
a trading organisation. The rapid industrialisation of the country and
the increasing demand for its engineering products prompted the company
to commence local manufacturing operation. Now we offer the most comprehensive
line of Hydraulic based machines, various plants, all kinds of material
handling equipment with the help of modern equipment including CAD and
precision machines and our highly qualified and experienced staff. At
‘Santec’ the combination of years of experience and constant
technical innovation has resulted in a standard of high quality, which
is approved by the PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry. ‘Santec’
has many customers throughout both in India and abroad, thanks both to
rapid delivery times and attentive after-sales-service. These are factors
in the company’s success in winning customers over the past four
years and keeping them satisfied over the years. Keeping on advancing
a stronger, more reliable and sound manner day after day, ‘Santec’

Q. What are your products and their application?
A. Our major products are all kinds of Hydraulic based presses for rubber moulding, scrap baling etc., hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder, material handling equipment, coir mattresses plants, S.S. Sink Plant, LPG Cylinder plant etc. Our machines/equipment find application mainly in rubber parts industries, sheet metal parts metal melting coir mattresses, LPG cylinders domestic utensils industries, defence, railway. In fact, our wide range of machines/products find application almost in all kind of big or small industries. Q. Do you have any foreign technical tie-up? Give some details on your technology upgradation and quality of your products. A. No, but we are working on that. Every product of ‘Santec is designed to do its job reliably and cost effectively. No equipment or part leaves the premise until it has received an individual test certificate. A well trained service engineers team is readily available to provide quick and reliable assistance. They are able to assemble or supervise assembly by the user’s own personnel and instruct operators and maintenance staff. We consider our customers as our “Business Partners” to whom we owe our best efforts and support.
Q. Do you export your products? If so where?
A. Our products are mainly exported to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, South Africa both directly and indirectly. The company is a member of Engineering Export Promotion Council.
Q. Who are your major clients?
A. Our major clients are Hindalco, Jindals, Jay Pee, BPL, Roop, NTPC etc.
Q. What are the major achievements of your company?
A. Within a very short span of 4 years, ‘Santec’ is respected all over India as a manufacturer of the most modern Hydraulic based machines/presses designer.The most modern techniques of design, manufacturing and administration together with a competent team of personnel, characterise our readiness to perform to the standard necessary to secure our established leading position for the future. Our products have been widely accepted by the foreign buyers, where our product quality has been proven to be at par with foreign makes. It is our obligation for the present and challenge for future to expand this market position in the building hydraulic machines/equipment/presses and lines with ingenuity and creativity to the benefit of our customers.
Q. Do you have any message to the players in the Hydraulics and Pneumatics segments?
A. We would like to say that only this industry can give better product quality and efficiency provided better resources to make the equipment zero defect. With the recognition of the higher productivity and other benefits of hydraulically equipped machinery in various sectors of industry, it is expected that hydraulics will be increasingly used for new applications, and will also witness growth in existing markets. Growth rates will be linked to the rates of overall economic development and growth. With the large potential for development of infrastructure in India, it would be logical to expect that the market for hydraulic equipment would grow faster than the overall rate of growth of our economy.
